Frequently asked
Where is my data stored? Can you see it?
No, we can't see it. DecoEcho has no servers and no accounts. Your cards, decks, and study progress live on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your own private iCloud account — which only you can access. We never receive a copy.
How do I sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Sign in to the same Apple Account on both devices and make sure iCloud Drive is turned on (Settings → your name → iCloud). DecoEcho syncs automatically. Sync can take a minute on first launch, and both devices need a network connection to catch up.
I bought DecoEcho Pro but it isn't unlocked on my other device.
Open DecoEcho on the second device, go to Settings inside the app, and tap Restore Purchases. The unlock is tied to your Apple Account, so it works on every device signed in to that account at no extra cost. If restore doesn't take, confirm both devices use the same Apple Account — a purchase made on a family member's account won't restore on yours.
Is DecoEcho Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks AI card generation, Wikipedia autofill, translation, and text-to-speech permanently. There is nothing to cancel and no renewal.
The AI card generation isn't working.
Card generation runs on Apple Intelligence, directly on your device, which means it needs a device and iOS version that support it, with Apple Intelligence enabled in Settings. The first use after enabling it can also take a few minutes while iOS downloads the on-device model. If it still doesn't appear, email us with your iPhone model and iOS version.
How does the spaced-repetition scheduling work?
DecoEcho uses an adaptive SM-2–style algorithm. When you grade a card, it schedules the next review based on how well you knew it — cards you find easy drift further apart, cards you struggle with come back sooner. You don't need to configure anything; just study when the app says cards are due.
Can I share a deck with a classmate?
Yes. Open the deck, choose Share, and send the deck file however you like — Messages, Mail, AirDrop. Opening that file on another device with DecoEcho installed imports the deck. Because sharing is file-based, nothing passes through our systems.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting a deck inside the app removes it. Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device. To clear the iCloud copy as well, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, find DecoEcho, and delete its data. Since we never hold a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and select the purchase. If something in the app went wrong, we'd appreciate hearing about it too so we can fix it.
